LEAF on Portland Street opens today! LEAF brings a unique and welcoming atmosphere to Portland St, together with over 60 varieties of loose leaf tea and an award-winning all day menu that includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. The tea house, versatile café bar and arts space is set over two floors and will officially open the doors today.

LEAF is proud to open its large, independent space in this area of Manchester, nestled below the creative community of Bruntwood’s West Village . LEAF already runs two versatile café-bar and arts spaces in Liverpool, and the team have been on the lookout for an imaginative space like this for years. LEAF’s new home in the former RIBA CUBE gallery is a magnificent grade II listed space with bags of character and charm and features a 300-capacity area for gigs, creative and corporate events.

LEAF began in Liverpool in 2007, and has focused on creating a relaxing and imaginative space to enjoy wholesome food, award winning loose-leaf tea (The Autumn Fire blend won a Great Taste Award last month) and a varied event calendar. Over the last few years LEAF has won many accolades for its food from The Guardian, The Times and The Independent, and also won two Great Taste awards in 2015 and in 2016.

Natalie Haywood, MD of LEAF on Portland Street says: “I’ve been looking for years for a big versatile space in Manchester and when the RIBA CUBE Gallery became available it seemed like the perfect venue. The location felt right, and it’s in a diverse neighbourhood, which fits our desire to create a welcoming venue for everyone to enjoy tea, music and good times. We cannot wait to open the doors!”.
