James Corden breaks the internet for the final time in 2016 with his latest Carpool Karaoke starring Bruno Mars Described as “The Carpool you’ve been waiting for”, this sketch is everything you’d imagine it to be and more.
Whilst Bruno Mars teaches Corden a few dance moves, the pair make their way through Mars’ chart topping back catalogue, featuring arguably the biggest song of the year 24k Magic, as well as some of his other hits including Grenade and Locked Out of Heaven.
It would have been good to see Bruno perform some more of his old hits that got him where he is today, including Just the Way You Are and The Lazy Song which are both fan favourites, although that did not detract from the hilarious Carpool which Mars dived in head first and was willing to make a fool of himself.
Bruno also discusses what he requests on his rider including “booze, water and wet wipes”, and tries on an array of funky hats that Corden heavy heartedly admits he’d never be able to pull off, ‘If I wore that I’d look like I was having a breakdown!’.
Eccentric, full of banter and dodgy clothes aplenty, Corden ends his sketch getting into the spirit of things and dressing similar to Mars himself, in a cap and garish shirt as he enviously reveals to Mars: “If I could dress like that all day every day I’d just be over the moon”, with Mars cheekily replying: “I bet you can.”
It is fair to say that Corden has well and truly created a monster hit with his Carpool Karaoke sketches, and that is proven by the A List guests who agree to sing a long and make a fool of themselves all in the name of entertainment, including Michelle Obama, Stevie Wonder and Adele to name but a few.
Joining Corden in his car recently are some of the biggest pop Princesses of our time: Madonna, who admits to Corden she once kissed Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga who takes to the wheel of the car whilst belting out her biggest hits, and Britney Spears who joins Corden in singing Baby One More Time whilst he is dressed as the infamous school girl from the video, plaits and all.
Only time can tell what 2017 will hold, but based on the stars Corden has carpooled with in 2016, we’re expecting some big names….
