Bristol band Heaven Asunder have reached the final of the Surface Festival competition. The festival has launched the competition to find the best new and unsigned talent across Europe.
Prizes on offer include a slot at Sziget Festival 2012, a slot at Guitar Nation, a professional one-day video shoot and gear from Marshall.
The five piece metal ensemble breezed through the semi-finals, coming first, seeing off fierce competition. Boyd, Lewis, James, Ally and Scott all attend the Bristol Institution of Modern Music, where the guys defined their energetic sound and have taken the city’s scene by storm.
With influences including Killswitch Engage, Deftones, Motley Crue and Avenged Sevenfold, Heaven Asunder are proving that metal is definitely not dead. Known for their astounding live shows and incredible talents, Heaven Asunder are quickly becoming a band to look out for.
The guys are currently working on their debut E.P, which will be available to the masses in early August. The songs featured will include ‘Days Of Virtue,’ ‘Dead Man’s Waltz’ and crowd favourite ‘Sevenate.’
After gigging regularly around the South West, the boys have bagged two more gigs in September. They will be playing The Fleece on September 8th and The Louisiana on September 29th.
The boys now need an extra push to win the live final. 25 per cent of their finishing points will come from texts votes made by the public. The other 75 per cent will be made up by the three judges present at the live showcase.
