FLAMIN and videoclub present Selected II

Selected, which tours six UK venues this month through – June, will showcase work by some of the best emerging UK film and video artists, in a dazzling, diverse moving image programme, brought together by the artists shortlisted for the Film London Jarman Award.

Each of the shortlisted artists for the 2011 Film London Jarman Award – Ed Atkins; Clio Barnard;
Claire Hooper; Anja Kirschner & David Panos; Hilary Koob-Sassen; Torsten Lauschmann;
Elizabeth Price; Laure Prouvost; Imogen Stidworthy; and Corin Sworn – have selected their pick of
up-and-coming artist filmmaking talent, to create an invigorating new programme of work.

Throughout May and June the Selected programme will tour venues in England and Scotland, including:
Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA), Glasgow; Whitechapel Gallery, London; Star and Shadow
Cinema, Newcastle; FACT, Liverpool; Nottingham Contemporary and Duke of York’s Cinema,
Brighton.

Confirmed artists in the 2012 screening programme include: Anonymous Bosch, Nicholas Keogh,
Benedict Drew, Francis Summers, Una Knox, Andy Lacey, Charlotte Prodger, Alexis
Milne, Markus Soukup, and Daniel Swan.

Each screening event will include featured filmmakers introducing their work, with an opportunity to ask the artists questions and talk to them about their films.

Selected has been produced in partnership with videoclub and Film London Artists’ Moving Image
Network (FLAMIN), with the aim of showcasing and celebrating some of the most innovative emerging
talent in artists’ moving image.
