Liverpool’s culinary offering is set to get an exciting new addition from two of the cities best-loved creative organisations as they unveil The Garden by LEAF at FACT.

Together, LEAF and FACT are set to open an innovative new eatery that serves up a simple, fresh menu and a tasty selection of drinks in one of the most anticipated city centre unions this year.

As an intimate and social new addition to the building, The Garden will focus on vegetarian options and deliver a selection of soups and sandwiches as well as a wide variety of Fairtrade loose leaf teas from across the globe.

The food menu will be healthy, light, and quick to prepare. The colourful and bright new space draws on the expertise of all involved; from the décor & design to the food & drink, to deliver a warm and welcoming environment inside one of the city centre’s most forward-thinking independent arts organisations.

The Garden will play host to regular monthly events and meet-ups, as well as providing a perfect space for meetings and networking events.

The Garden will be an inclusive and creative space, with a focus on good quality and wholesome produce serving up something for everyone.

The launch of The Garden coincides with new exhibition the The Art of Pop Video, opening in the FACT gallery spaces on Thursday 14 March.

Drawing on some of the most memorable moments in music, the exhibition features more than 100 music videos spanning the past 80 years, charting the development of the medium as an art form in its own right

This year the FACT building is celebrating 10 years as the place where people, art and technology meet, with a variety of new media exhibitions and film events planned.

Attentions will be turned to the iconic Wood Street building in June with a special exhibition, Turning FACT Inside Out.

Now, the team at LEAF are delighted to bring along their skills to help create an innovative new café. With both organisations sharing an independent ethos and love for the creative industries, The Garden is the ideal place to sit back, sip tea and catch up with friends as we welcome in a new decade at FACT.

Natalie Haywood, Managing Director of LEAF, said: “We are excited to join forces with FACT and launch our new café concept The Garden. The original FACT café was actually the inspiration for our first LEAF venue! As a place we really loved, it feels right to host a café in this space now 4 years later.”

Iona Horsburgh, executive director of FACT, said: “FACT is delighted to be able to announce the arrival of The Garden and the start of a successful partnership with LEAF.

“We are delighted that our visitors will be able to enjoy an exciting and unique menu as well as fresh new look and feel to the facilities on offer. We anticipate that The Garden by LEAF at FACT will become as much of a must-visit food and drink destination as LEAF itself.”
