Dance behemoth Eddie Halliwell has discussed his new Cream Ibiza Compilation and his inside tip for a track that will dominate Ibiza this summer.

This is the second year Halliwell has mixed the Cream Ibiza Compilation after working on it last year with fellow DJ Sander Van Doorn.

When asked what the whole experience was like working on his own this time and what can we expect from the new compilation CD, the Wigan born Halliwell said: “This is my second year working on the Cream Ibiza Compilation and I have tried to come at it from a different angle.”

“Last year it was more of a partnership. I shared creative control with Sander [Van Doorn] which was great and I was really pleased with the outcome.”

“But this year it is all me, which has been a positive experience. I have tried to create a different sound on each disc, trying to capture the sound of the main room and the terrace.”

Eddie Halliwell will of course be resuming his residency as part of Cream’s weekly event in Amnesia, playing in the main room alongside Paul Van Dyke and Ferry Corsten over the summer.

Halliwell described his new CD in these terms saying, “The first one is more housey, where as the second one is more Techno driven but still with loads of energy.”

“It’s nice to just express myself creatively so I have tried to incorporate a few of my ED-IT mixes onto the compilation.”

When asked for a track that was going to explode in Ibiza this summer, Halliwell had only one answer.

“Yoris Voorn, he has got a really great track out at the minute called The Secret, which I think is going to be massive. I have liked his stuff for years so it is nice to see him starting to get the recognition he deserves.”
