Clarence Clemons rock sax legend dies at 69

Clarence Clemons, one of the original members of Springsteen’s E Street Band, and legendary rock saxophonist has passed way aged 69.

Known as The Big Man for his giant 6’5′ frame, he helped shape the early sound of The Boss and his powerful solos graced classic like Born to Run and Jungleland.

Clemons also performed with other legends including, Aretha Franklin, The Grateful Dead, Ringo Starr and Jackson Browne.

Bruce Springsteen released a press statement mourning the death of his friend and band mate,saying;

‘He loved the saxophone, loved our fans and gave everything he had every night he stepped on stage. His loss is immeasurable and we are honored and thankful to have known him and had the opportunity to stand beside him for nearly forty years.’
