When was the last time you ate at your local neighbourhood restaurant?

Purple Revolver has found a new local eatery to fall in love with and hopes to enlist the whole family to become fully-fledged ‘regulars.’

Warmly welcomed by Mario, the tavern-style restaurant offered a laid-back vibe with no fake plastic flowers or dusty empty bottles hanging from vines in sight.

To start we got our five-a-day quota in with a fresh salad and olives.

For our entrees, my partner enjoyed the 8oz steak, cooked to perfection, with garlic, white wine, oregano and tomato sauce while I devoured the Al Salmone – smoked salmon spaghetti with a creamy tomato sauce.

Both dishes would rival any seasonal fresh fare from Venice and the service was super – attentive and friendly.

To round off our lunch I had the delicious espresso con panna – fresh coffee with whipped cream, which is my new favourite and has replaced my usual two-shot cappuccino.
