Good day music fans. Bombay Bicycle Club have a new acoustic album on the way, Flaws, set for a release date of July 12.

The band started recording the album only a matter of days after they submitted the master recordings for their debut LP ‘I Had the Blues but I Shook them Loose’.

They recorded a couple of early tracks in The Church, with the majority of the album being recorded and produced by vocalist Jack Steadman in his bedroom.

Jack touched on rediscovering older music as an influence. Sifting through his dad’s record collection introduced him to some classic artists, such as – Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake. He also referred to his Dad playing Harry Smith’s Anthology of American Music as a “huge moment”.

The band are going for a much simpler sound than what we were presented with on ‘I had the Blues’, although the sound isn’t exactly new territory for TBBC.

Most singles they’ve released to date have included some sort of acoustic b-side, so this may be a good indication of what we can expect from them.

These guys have already received from positive press, receiving the ‘Best New Band’ award from NME last year. It’ll be interesting to hear what they’ve churned out this time round.
