The accepted rule of thumb is ‘don’t wear plaid’ but Bill Murray isn’t a man to follow conventions and scored another eccentric fashion victory by combining three different types of plaid.
The Caddyshack icon walked the Cannes red carpet with his trademark laconic expression and effortless cool as though he had just stolled in from the golf course.
Fearlessly prowling the crimson rug with his clashing style, the Ghostbusters star offered some sartorial advice to one reporter.
He said: “I’d like to tell you something about the way you look. But not in front of everyone.”
Bill was promoting the new Wes Anderson movie Moonrise Kingdom, which co-stars Bruce Willis and he gave praise to the Die Hard actor, calling him a ‘serious, crazy movie star.’
“For him to play the part of a town cop in a one-cop town, it was fun,” said Murray. “He has a Die Hard moment in the film, which made me laugh so hard. It wouldn’t have worked without him.”
Bill Murray… you are a legend – we salute you!
