The Shipping Forecast will open its doors to Beck’s Vier music inspires art this weekend to showcase the latest talents in music and visual arts in Liverpool’s newest venue.
The following names have already been confirmed for the Liverpool leg of the UK wide tour, with New Young Pony Club, DJ Cheeba, Horse Meat Disco, The Invisible, Chapel Club, Howls and Opulent Oog all signed up.
The collective pull of these artists along with the teasing promises of special secret guests, new art commissions and film installations should have art lovers and music buffs alike clambering to get in.
The tour is free and brings together the best new live music and DJ talent, with an original programme of innovative film and art curated by Future Shorts and Squeaky Hill and Cabinet of Living Cinema art collectives.
The fun and frolics are already underway having kicked off at Bungalows and Bears, in Sheffield on May 27th. Next up are dates in Liverpool (4th – 6th June) and Nottingham (10th-13th June).
Beck’s Vier Music Inspires Art, which is in association with leading independent promoters 580 Ltd, will then make ten stops across the UK from now until August, taking in Manchester, Bristol, Portsmouth, London and more.
This event marks a busy period for The Shipping Forecast with a glut of talent set to take the venue on to stratospheric heights, offering a top notch programme which reflects the progressive, ambitious plans of the organisers.
Joy Orbison is one to watch out for on July 3rd, and with his brand of garage-house blasting he is sure to test the foundations of the newly refurbished building.
