Velocity 2 has witnessed a ‘spring’ in demand for trampolining following this year’s Olympic Games triumph.

The recently opened Wigan based trampoline park, which is just a 20-minute drive from Liverpool City Centre, has noticed the spike following Great Britain’s recent victory, which saw Bryony Page become the first British woman to win an Olympic trampoline medal by achieving silver in Rio.

Being one of the largest of its kind in the North West, the mammoth 46,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art venue not only attracts avid jumpers, but now also aspiring athletes hoping to follow in Bryony’s footsteps.

Managing Director of Velocity Leisure Steven Cosgrove said: “This year’s Olympic Games have seen Great Britain walk away with its very first medal in trampolining, and we’re extremely proud of local Olympian Bryony Page for achieving the notable accolade of a silver medal in her discipline.

“Her performance has certainly raised the profile of trampolining and whether our visitors are taking part in our fitness classes or enjoying a free jump session, trampolining is proven to be up to three times more beneficial than a regular workout and participants can expect to burn an estimated 1,000 calories per hour.”

Velocity 2, which is located in Caxton Close in Wigan, follows the success of the original Widnes based venue which opened in July 2015 and takes on double its blueprint. The trampoline park accommodates all visitors from walking age onwards and offers a range of activities including Extreme Dodgeball, Club Velocity, Toddler Time and fitness classes. The venue is also home to unique high-end equipment such as a foam pit airbag, Gladiator-style jousting and its unrivalled Clip ‘n’ Climb facilities.

Steven added: “Anybody who’s visited our newest site will appreciate that there’s much more to trampolining than just jumping up and down, for example, our venue is the first in the local area to offer Clip ‘n’ Climb facilities, whereby guests can enjoy a truly unique climbing experience by reaching new heights and experiencing action packed climbing activity.

“Whether visitors be aspiring athletes or are simply adrenaline seekers, we’re looking forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces to try out the diverse range of fun activities available at Velocity 2.”
