Rihanna certainly turned heads with her dress at this years CFDA Fashion Awards in New York.
The Only Girl in The World singer chose to wear a completely sheer dress that left nothing to the imagination and although it is extremely revealing, Rihanna has to be congratulated for her bravery.
The What Now singer was presented with the 2014 Fashion Icon Award by Anna Wintour before she was escorted up the stage and we all got quite a clear view of her derrière.
On receiving the award, the star said ”I grew up in a really small island and I didn’t have a lot of access to fashion but as far as I can remember, fashion has always been a defence mechanism.’
The floor length dress was custom made by Adam Selman and was covered in 216,000 Swarovski crystals.
She matched the dress with a matching Swarovski crystal covered hair wrap that covered her natural hair, showing she had given up the pink wig she seems to have favoured lately.
The only way in which the star tried to cover herself up was with a fur wrap that she wore loosely in the creases of her arms.
Zac Posen, a famous designer talked about the star before the ceremony, calling her a risk taker.
‘She takes risks and she marches to her own drum and she knows what she likes,’
Other attendees of the awards show include Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o.
Rihanna was clearly feeling confident in her fashion choice as a video has been released of the singer celebrating her win by ‘twerking’ back stage as friends cheer her on.

The owner of the account explains that Rihanna will be appearing at the Hard Rock Cafe in Paris this Thursday for a press event, saying ‘it’s history in the making.’
Fans are speculating that there might be a surprise album release on the way but the announcement of the incoming ‘big news’ has also received some negative comments including a forum user claiming ‘She didn’t release an annual album last year. That’s enough history in the making, isn’t it?’
