Cartoon royalty Marge Simpson has been given a fashionable new look thanks to Italian artist AleXsandro Palombo.

Best known for creating unflattering portraits of well known fashion figures, Palombo has found an unlikely muse in Marge Simpson.

The talented illustrator has given the first lady of Springfield a drastic makeover inspired by iconic images from fashion history.

Palombo said he wanted to capture how fashion has changed women’s role in society,

“I made a strict and careful selection of what, in my opinion, has really influenced the style of the last 100 years. Each of these dresses really changed the course of the history of costume, giving a new aesthetic vision that has anticipated major changes in our society.”

From the black dress in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, to Kate Moss’s provocative bunny suit for Playboy’s 60th birthday, Palombo’s work proves that Marge can look good in anything.
