Crazy sales bonanza ‘Black Friday’ is upon us once again – and this year it promises to be bigger than ever.

The annual shopping event imported from the US has been well and truly accepted into UK Christmas shopping culture, and has the potential to become even bigger than the infamous Boxing Day splurge.

Shops across the country are currently bracing themselves for thousands of bargain hungry customers that will descend on the high street, as it has been said by retail executives that the number of shoppers will increase by 10%.

Black Friday covers most areas of the retail sector, from gadgets to toys to shoes. John Lewis (a Christmas favourite) will be opening all its doors at 8am, and will not be closing its flagship on London Oxford Street until 10pm – the longest running day in its 150 year history.

Tesco’s larger stores will be operating at one minute past midnight, to accommodate for shoppers so dedicated they’d rather sacrifice a good night’s sleep to run around a supermarket picking up deals.

Naturally the fashion sector is one of the most popular, and we’re here to point you in the right direction. So, which of your favourite shops (online and on the high street) are giving you the best offers?

It goes without saying that most keen female fashion addicts will head straight to retail giant Topshop.

This year they’re not taking Black Friday lying down, with 50% selected items from today until Monday – giving you the whole weekend to nab yourself those metallic boots you’ve been lusting after, and for half the price.

And we’re not just talking Topshop own brand – included in the sale is some of their hottest collaborations this year, such as the fiercely anticipated Marques/Almeida x collection, and Chloe Jade Green’s 2014 A/W shoe line.

The same applies to Urban Outfitters, with 50% off selected lines promised over the weekend, including a lush selection of tartan and corduroy skirts with their prices slashed in half – perfect for keeping fabulous throughout the cold winter months.

Successful Shop Direct group holds the impressive figure of selling 3 products per second last year, and this year is going to be no different. Online favourites belonging to the group (Very, Littlewoods and Isme) promise “most wanted gifts and fashion for loads less … giving you more money for Christmas partying.”

With party season looming in the hazy sequinned distance, that’s surely an offer fashion addicts will be unable to resist, particularly with celebrity lines included from Fearne Cotton, Rochelle Humes and Sam Faiers.

If you’re looking for something a little more exclusive this Christmas, head to Harvey Nichols for 25% off selected designer lines this Black Friday.
