After the encouraging announcement from Boris that we might just get the summer we all deserve… it’s time to start planning those post Covid outfits to celebrate the start living outside our homes again.

Spring and summer are arguably the best months for fashion, as the sun comes out and knitted jumpers are banished to the back of the wardrobe.

Beer gardens, BBQ’s, nights out and holidays are set to return, which means only one thing. Fashion is definitely back on our minds.

For some, spring is the perfect excuse to splash out on new pieces for the season and give outfit choices a revamp. As the heat of the summer sun comes, a comfortable look with modest summer fashion will bring out your personal style.

But a new season doesn’t have to be an expensive occasion where online shopping becomes a daily ritual.

Re-wearing items from previous years and incorporating pieces from other seasons can work just as well.

Here is your 2021 guide to spring and summer fashion, to give you a head start on planning your attire and turning heads with on trend outfits.

Oversized Shirts

Wearing an oversized shirt has never been more appropriate for the spring season. Perfect for that awkward in-between weather, where it’s still too chilly to get your arms out but not cold enough for thick jackets.

Pairing a loose buttoned shirt with your favourite pair of jeans or shorts provides an effortless look that is casual, yet still appears as though you’ve made an effort.

Casual Blazers

For slightly colder days, a lightweight blazer is the ultimate addition to your spring outfit. Chucking one on with any outfit can instantly dress it up and become the main piece.

Pastels blues and yellows are fitting for the season and can add a pop of colour to spice up a plain outfit.

Trench Coats

It’s time to dig out that trench coat from the back of your wardrobe that you’ve had for years, because this spring… they’re in!

The classic trench will always be a timeless piece and an essential basic that almost anyone can look good in. Paired with pale pink and beige colour items such as bodysuits and leather leggings, this look appears put together and sophisticated.

Caps

Long gone are the days of when men only were the predominant wearers of caps. A baseball style cap instantly gives that effortless, off duty look, while still looking stylish and chic. Paired with oversized sweaters and leggings makes for a sporty outfit that is both comfortable and casual.

White trainers

Nothing screams the start of spring and summer more than a fresh pair of white trainers. Think weekend casual rather than gym shoe, to add a minimalist touch to any spring outfit. A trendy pair of white trainers adds a sharp finish and brings guaranteed comfort.

Look for a pair in a leather or canvas material with minimal details. This ensures they can be paired with pretty much any and every outfit, becoming a wardrobe staple. It’s time to give your favourite pair of white trainers a clean and polish ready for the spring season.

Big Sunglasses

As we edge closer to sunnier seasons, now is the time when it’s considered acceptable for the shades to return. There’s no better feeling than putting on your sunnies for the first time, as the thrilling feeling sinks in that summer is fast approaching.

Oversized sunglasses were everywhere last year and will certainly make a comeback this spring. Chuck on a pair to accompany any outfit for an elegant look, with a hint of movie star allure.

Paper bag Shorts

During the warmer months when humid and sticky weather returns, comfort is definitely key. A slightly more relaxed alternative to denim shorts is paper bag shorts in light, breathable fabrics.

They are often made from cotton or polyester, providing easy movement without the restrictive feeling that denim shorts wearers will be familiar with.
Tennis Skirts

The tennis skirts trend took off last Summer and will continue to be fashionable this year. A combination of stylish, cute, and chic, these staple pieces can be paired with pretty much anything on top. For the ultimate summery vibe, crop tops finish the look off perfectly and make for a sporty yet casual outfit.
