Choosing to ignore the latest Yeezy release which again sold out quicker than Ronda Rousey saw stars in that second round last night, I present to you the best of this fortnight’s sneakers.
Nike ‘Flyknit Mercurial’ Black / Purple
Debuting in 2014, the Flyknit Mercurial has been well received. If you weren’t already aware, this is Nike’s take on a shoe directly moulded from a football boot. The same boots modelled effortlessly by everybody’s favourite Portuguese grease monkey, Christiano Ronaldo.
This new release packs vibrant purples and pinks above that exceedingly comfortable Free Run 5.0 sole.

Asics Gel Lyte V Christmas Pack – ‘Jack Frost’ & ‘Bad Santa’
Maybe I’m cheating by including both releases as one submission here, but when they both look as good as this, I’m struggling to decide upon a favourite.
The annual festive pack from Asics may well form together their best drop of the year, 11 months in.
With two colour ways to chose from, you’ll be forgiven for sporting these deep into 2016 as they’re a subtle enough hint of the jolly periods ahead and not an onslaught.
The red and black remind me of those holy grail ‘Embers’ from last summer and the aqua / grey are just scintillating.

Diadora V7000 ‘Espresso’
Golly gosh, this is a good week. Diadora are here again, with revamped version of the V7000 ‘Espresso’, a shoe first released in the early 90’s.
Entirely crafted the famous Montebelluna shoe district of Caerano di San Marco, Italy, it’s yet another sterling release for the brand of 2015.
Grey mesh sits against synthetic undertones and that unmistakeable green branding.
Bellissimo.

Nike ‘Ultra Moire’ Camo
Argh! More heat than the centre of the Sun or Alan Partridge’s Bramley apple pie! The Ultra Moire Camo just dropped to signify the best day of releases since I can recall.
Perforated uppers, synthetic camo, olive tones and that notorious visible air bubble.
Cor blimey, I think I need to sit down. Who needs Yeezy’s?
