It’s nothing new that Britain is host to some fabulous menswear and male influences, so it seemed inevitable that this should be celebrated through a series of fashion week-esque catwalk shows and parties.
London Collections: Men, otherwise known as LCM took place from the 9th-12th January in our much loved capital city, and was run by the British Fashion Council.
The Autumn/Winter 2015 collections displayed some seriously promising new material from a broad range of designers, from Topman design, to Moschino, to Alexander McQueen.
There was many famous faces in attendance, including LCM ambassadors David Gandy, Nick Grimshaw and Tom Hiddleston – all who have been honoured with that title by being influential figures within the menswear industry.
As proclaimed by the British Fashion Council, there are 10 iconic menswear styles that have originated in Britain, that define the effortless style of our favourite fashion males.
The list is made up of:
Bondage trousers, bowler hats, brogues, the dandy, floral shirt and tie, the great coat/riding coat, 3 piece suit, tweed and tartan, and wellington boots.
These classic trends all supposedly seal the UK’s reputation as the global origin of men’s fashion.
Such as any important fashion event, celebrities stormed social media with pictures and updates of their different experiences at LCM.
Pixie Lott saw in her 23rd birthday at the ‘Tommy-H and Dylan Jones dinner’, wearing a beautiful red cape dress with star detailing, and completed her look with beachy waved hair.
Her other half British model Oliver Cheshire was also at some of the LCM events, sitting on the front row alongside menswear committee member Nick Grimshaw and other famous faces.
