Trying to keep your makeup looking fresh and trying to stop it from sliding off your face can be especially hard in the summer months.
These are tried and tested makeup faves that will keep you looking flawless on even the hottest of days. Come at me, Sun.
Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray £14
Setting spray is a must when it comes to keeping your makeup in place all day long, so this is a blessing of a product in the summer months! My personal favourite is Gerard Cosmetics, it comes in a bunch of different scents (Peach, Mango, Green Tea, Lavender, Lemongrass, Coconut, Grapefruit and Watermelon) which smell SO good (Peach is my go-to) and will make your makeup budge-proof for hours on end.
Nars Illuminator in ‘Cococabana’ £23
As makeup product lovers, we all seem to be chasing the same thing. A blinding highlight. This little gem from Nars comes in four different shades and is one of the most pigmented highlights I’ve ever used. It’s a cream highlighter, which I’m not usually into but this is different to others, it looks so natural and healthy on the skin, is really reflective without making you look oily. It fades beautifully through the day and makes you look like a gleaming goddess. Love.
Maybelline ‘Fit Me Matte and Poreless Foundation £6.99
Everybody around me is sick. to. death. of me speaking about this foundation but it’s just so good, I would pay triple the price for this. It’s amazing coverage without being cakey and feeling heavy, it really does last all day/night and out of all the foundations I have it’s the one that gives the most ‘photo shopped’ look to the skin. It fills in your pores great and it works with all skin types. (Shout out to all my super, super, super dry skinned girls.)
Mac Strobe Cream £25 (Travel Sized is £10)
This is a product I’ve only recently tried, but now I have it in my collection I can’t imagine not using it every day, it gives you such a healthy, glowing complexion. In the summer it adds extra life to the skin and makes your makeup go on so smooth, and in the winter adds great hydration. Again, if you want to look like a healthy, glowy, summer goddess, try this.
Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush in ‘Pearlescent Pink’ £6
Favourite blush ever. A lot of guru’s say this is a spot on dupe for Nars ‘Orgasm’ without the massive price tag. This is a beautiful pink/peach blush with extra flecks of shimmery gold in, it’s adds extra glow to the face without being over powering. Sweat does nothing to this formula, it will stay on your cheeks all day until you go at it with a makeup wipe. So pretty and it’s only £6!
Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer £18
This is another staple in the collection. If you’ve been dying to try the Milk Makeup’s ‘Blur Stick’ but can’t get your hands on it, this is such a perfect dupe. It’s perfect for the summer because it’s really cool and refreshing when you apply to the skin. It keeps your makeup on all day and is definitely the most hydrating primer I’ve ever used. Will repurchase over and over!
Lime Crime Diamond Crushers £15
These sparkly lip toppers are addictive. You can apply them alone or over liquid lipstick and they will turn your lips into a tiny disco ball. Wearing the Rose Gold shade alone in the summer is an unbelievably cute look, or you could use the Black Unicorn shade over dark lipstick for a ‘vamp’ look on a night out. This formula is bulletproof and these won’t leave your lips or fade until you go in with makeup remover. Touché, Lime Crime.
L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Waterproof in Black £10.99
The mascara that lives in my bag through the summer! I’ve repurchased this a few times over and it’s never let me down. Holds a curl unbelievably well through the day and doesn’t transfer on to your under eye and give you that ‘raccoon’ look when you apply it to the bottom lashes. Adds amazing length to really make your eyes stand out.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade £15
The best product around for brows, hands down. This sculpts your eyebrows and makes them look put-together (even if you’ve not had them waxed in a while!) Beauty gurus have tested this under water and the brows have stayed on and not moved in the slightest. There’s a massive variety of shades for all hair colours, and you get a lot of product for a decent price. Creamy formula that’s easy to work with, so if you’re having problems when it comes to creating the ‘perfect brow’ (as we all do) this is might be what you’re looking for this summer.
