After an incredibly successful launch in 2014, Laces Out! Festival promises an even bigger 2016 programme that will have trainer enthusiasts across the country salivating at the prospect of copping those super rare editions and vintage kicks not available on the high street.

The marketplace will feature sneakers from the biggest brands, ranging from £30 right up to £3000 and fans will get an inside look at the industry with special previews of unreleased products.

Alongside the market and exhibitions of memorabilia is the Laces Out! Lab featuring keynote talks and DJ Sets from key figures in the industry. Topping the bill is world-renowned DJ and critically acclaimed author of ‘Where’d You Get Those? NYC’s Sneaker Culture: 1980-87’ Bobbito Garcia, who will take part in an exclusive Q & A as well as performing a headline DJ set. Joining him will be the UK’s very own Hip Hop authority and self professed sneaker head DJ Semtex, a legend in his own right thanks to his technically pioneering DJ sets and ability to be the first on the scene of new talent thanks to his much lauded BBC 1 Xtra Hip Hop show. Also performing will be UK Hip Hop pioneers Rodney P and Skitz as well as the region’s best DJ’s including DJ Stylus, No Fakin, DJ 2Kind, Madnice and Pooky with more yet to be announced. If that wasn’t enough there will also be a special panel looking at the Culture of Sneakerfreaks featuring respected names from the industry including Megan Munro (Style Editor, Complex Magazine), Alex Synamatix (Editor, The Daily Street), Benji Blunt (Sneaker Customiser) and more.

Laces Out! curator Rob May says: “With Laces Out! Festival SS16 we really focused on enhancing every aspect of the event as well as celebrating peripheral sneaker culture within the Laces Out! Lab. The feedback on the programme so far has been overwhelming and it’s our ambition to continue to grow and get better each and every time. We hope that all hard core and casual sneaker heads can come and find something great to experience and get involved in at this event”

Speaking about his appearance, Bobbito Garcia added: “I’m amped about being a part of Laces Out! I love that sneaker events that support the culture like these are popping up locally all over the world. I’ve never been to Liverpool. I hope they’re ready for me, haha!”
