On the top of the fashion calendar amongst numerous Fashion Week celebrations, you’ll find the prestigious Elle Style Awards, and this year was no exception.
You’d be hard pushed to find an important fashion event this year which does not have pop princess Taylor Swift in attendance – this girl is quite literally taking over the world.
To Elle, she chose to wear a risqué form fitting dress by Julien Macdonald which featured a zip right through the middle – which was halfway undone, may we add.
Of course music’s most loved lady pulled it off with ‘style’ (get it?) and sophistication, a trait that she oozes seamlessly everywhere she goes.
Another fierce female not afraid to show a little skin was Rosie Huntington-Whitely who walked away with the award for Model of the Year. She sported a low cut, part leather LBD teamed with the barely there heels that have recently taken the high street by storm.
For the men this year it seemed that there was an unspoken agreement to go for navy and light blue hues. Sam Smith, David Gandy and Oliver Cheshire all took suave to new levels in their blue get-ups – with Sam accompanying his suit with a model pout which was demonstrated to perfection for the red carpet cameras.
Not one to follow the crowd, Nick Grimshaw opted for a bright red satin look blazer by Dolce & Gabanna – teamed not with a tie, but an odd looking thin scarf hung around his neck. As a self-confessed socialite and party goer it was no surprise that Grimmy took a different route for his outfit.
Calvin Harris’ gradual transformation to legitimate heart throb was blatant at the Awards ceremony, where he looked sharp in his classic black suit and tie by Emporio Armani – representing the designer he has recently modelled for.
Nation’s sweetheart Ellie Goulding looked truly angelic in a nude floor length gown embroidered with delicate white lace – an extremely feminine look for woman who usually edges towards the realms of tomboy.
Ellie was the epitome of elegance in her Alberta Ferretti dress which perfectly complemented her blonde princess hairstyle.
