The Childsplay Clothing Liverpool Fashion Week 2015, Trade Exhibition couldn’t have fallen on a more beautiful autumnal day, held at the Liverpool Marina, the setting was perfect for an afternoon of style.

The exhibition is a new addition to the Fashion Week schedule and provides visitors with the opportunity to meet designers and buy the runway collections from the previous nights shows. I was met by event organiser Amanda Moss (who I’m convinced doesn’t sleep) who was bright-eyed and full of smiles after a hugely successful Emerging Talent evening.

She said: “We’ve had such a fantastic response from the debut collections last night’

The exhibition space was a hive of activity with health, fitness, education, styling, designers and (most importantly) cake stalls all primed and ready to engage with visitors.

I managed a quick chat with Amentium designer Helen Teiman who has all but lost her voice after a sensational finale the night before. Her intricate lazer-cut latex creations are even more impressive up close and the colour choices for her swim and sportswear came from an unusual source.

Helen explained: “I eat a lot of sweets and I like the colours and patterns from the packaging so I incorporated that into the collection”

With Helen’s creative influence in mind, and having fawned over every item from both the Tayamika, Amentium and Issac Ava collections (actually quite glad I didn’t have much cash on me or I’d have bought everything I could fit into) I finally gave into temptation and bought a box of PS cupcakes.

Loaded down with heavenly cake I made a beeline for the office to type up my notes as Fashion Week steams ahead on to the Couture Boutique Closing Show and After Party. Tickets are still available at £20 doors open at 5:30pm The Marina Bar & Grill, Liverpool Waterfront.
