After years of lusting after the Chelsea icons wardrobe, today finally sees the release of Millie Mackintosh’s first independent clothing line. Since launching onto our screens as one of the original cast members of E4’s popular reality show Made in Chelsea, Millie’s flawless style has continued to make us green with envy.
The selling point of Made in Chelsea, if we’re being honest, is the endless stream of beautiful clothes sported by the characters. And as queen of the pack, it was only right that Mackintosh shared her secrets with the nation.
Launched on the 10th September at Chelsea’s trendy Eclipse bar, Millie was joined by a plethora of famous faces, including rapper husband Professor Green and best friend and fellow fashionista Rosie Fortescue who sported the intergalatik scuba dress from the collection.
Millie stated at the launch that her main aim when creating the line was to keep it as versatile as possible, with pieces that could be ‘taken from the office to the dancefloor’. She also explained that all the designs were created with herself in mind, meaning that every piece is often to be worn by Mrs Mackintosh/Manderson herself.
The range is made up of 40 unique pieces available in sizes 6 through to 16. A standout item is the two tone sequin bomber jacket which looks sensational modelled on the designer herself.
One possible flaw in the collection could be the price, with the jacket coming in at a whopping £250, perhaps a little too pricey for the high street side of retail, where it is likely that the majority of Millie’s fans shop.
The slightly too hefty price tag is however a nod towards her Chelsea roots, where the phrase ‘cheap and cheerful’ is unheard of.
