We thought that nobody could top the latest Alexander Wang x H&M designer collaboration.
Then we asked ourselves these next two questions:
Does Topshop ever let anyone down with their latest clothes and shoes?
Does Queen Bey ever let us down full stop?
The vast majority of the fashion world would say a definitive “No”.
The American Queen of pop and the British King of fashion, Sir Phillip Green, have agreed to a 50/50 business venture between the two which suggests that we should be seeing not only one collection from Ms Knowles’s fingertips, but a lot more.
Topshop owner, Sir Green, spoke to WWD about sealing the deal after a series of multiple – very secretive – meetings. He said, “This is not a collaboration. This is about building a brand and building a business – a separate, proper business, with separate overhead and a separate office.”
With deluxe sportswear popping up all over the fashion sector, it became obvious that Topshop had to dip their hand in and wow the rest of the high street.
Beyoncé puts that extra sparkle of stardom into the new business and fashion venture.
The new company will be called Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd which will feature a very long string of designs for yoga, fitness, leisure and, obviously – due to Beyoncé’s nature – dance.
Beyoncé is a fan of Topshop: “I have always loved Topshop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking.”
So of course it all fit together like the perfect jigsaw puzzle.
No doubt the two have a lot to do within the next year. It will be a hectic one as Green has to hire two designers – one fashion and one technical – to complete the various designs of sportswear among other members of staff.
We can’t wait for it to hit the biggest high street store – and other retailers too.
Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd launches in Autumn 2015.
