Headlining the Birmingham date of the tour, Hackney MC and actress Paigey Cakey’s distinctive talent has seen her garner a legion of fans and appearances in huge films like Attack The Block and with huge tunes like recent single Boogie it’s no wonder.
Spearheading a female charge alongside Lady Leshurr in grime’s erstwhile male dominated scene, hers is a name that will surely soon be inescapable.
Taking over the city centre, Paigey triggered queues around the block with both a riotous in-store appearance that had fans travelling from around the country to see, along with her own headline show later that night at Mama Roux’s. Proving that Paigey Cakey is a name destined for a huge 2017, it’s the moment an underground sensation became something bigger.
Speaking about her appearance and what she stands for, Paigey Cakey said:
“I stand for myself, for one, but I wanna be the voice of the young people. I want to stand for the youth; I want to stand for something that means something. I feel like the youth of today need role models to look up to, so I want to stand for them.”
