The new single The Living sees a confident and exciting offering for the Manchester trio Performance as they return from a three year hiatus.

Like many a mad scientist, these three have been spending time in their audio lab, adding what appears to be careful measurements of 80’s pop, 90’s indie and The Killers.

The Living is both sweepingly anthemic in the choruses and quirkily intimate through creative pop twists. It’s on the right side of ‘sound big without claiming to be a messiah’.

The track while generating this big sound also manages to retain a feel of Manchester and ol’ blighty through poetic lyric and a heritage of pop synth sounds and patterns.

A contemporary sound that nods subtly to its roots (both musically and geographically) without trying to become them.
