Things got hot and sweaty at The Magnet as Dubstep pioneer Benga brought beats and rhythm to Liverpool.

The Londoner played a late-night set after the crowd had already got all riled up with Dubstep tunes from a host of DJ’s.

But none of their energy had waned and Benga and hype man MC Youngman soon got anyone who had thoughts of bed back onto their feet and onto the dance floor.

The crowd surfing, afro-haired DJ dropped a mix of new tracks, older classics and favored tunes, including his latest track I Will Never, which achieved the impossible of taking the rowdy Liverpool crowd to a heightened level of ecstasy.

Energy and passion are staples of Benga’s shows, with the Magnetic Man whooping and hollering, but never once losing control of the decks.

The set was enough to make even this Dubstep virgin take to the dancefloor, a testament to how good the man is as a DJ and producer.

With his hotly anticipated new album, Chapter 2, due later this year, the gig gave a sneak peek into what should be some banging Dubstep.
