Ah the beauty of discovering a new band. Norwich based Blues Rockers Bad Touch played their second gig inside a month at The Chester Live Rooms as Special Guests of The Kentucky Headhunters and, quite literally, brought the audience to their feet.

Starting off with a superb Waste My Time from their debut album Halfway Home, released in 2015, there is no getting away from the fact that in Stevie Westwood’s smokin’ vocals and dynamic stage performance, the band are hot-to-trot right from the outset. Posturing and posing, with his near waist length curls swishing, here is a front man with not only the voice to slay dragons but also the charisma to bring them back from the brink.

Added to this are the exemplary lead and rhythm guitar talents of Rob Glendinning and Seeks, whose touch, control and out-and-out energy are a sight to behold. Watching these two ripping out Preacher is almost like an event in itself, with the superb drumming of George Drewry and Bailey’s sublime bass underpinning the whole lot like an RSJ cast double-thick!

There’s a new album in the offing too. Truth Be Told will be out later this year and three of the tracks were performed here. Made to Break and Waiting For This are classic rockers that had the Chester Live Rooms audience screaming their approval.

However, if there is a track on the album that better illustrates what Bad Touch are all about than 99%, then we are in for a treat indeed come autumn. This song is pure class that oozes confidence beyond the six years the band have been together and, here, received a tumultuous response.

Closing with a tub ripping solo from Drewry’s sensational skinsmith, Bad Touch exited stage left to rapturous applause that will have their hearts beating still faster at the prospect of what future successes lie ahead.
