Voted number 40 in Rolling Stone’s top 100 artists, Arthur Ira “Art” Garfunkel made one half of dynamic duo Simon and Garfunkel , originally named Tom and Jerry which didn’t gather much success until the name change – a bit like a male band version of Lana del Rey.

After years of releasing songs that spoke to the generation of the 1960s, Simon and Garfunkel decided to call it quits when they went their separate ways to college in 1970.

Thirty-five years later, Art Garfunkel has a whopping eight Grammys under his belt as well as a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Mike Nichol’s Carnal Knowledge.

He is one of those creative types that can dabble in various sectors of the industry at ease, including singing, song-writing, acting and poetry – being the definition of an artist.

As a member of the Roll & Roll Hall of Fame, he is one of the musicians that no music fan should miss the chance of seeing.

Following his triumphant return to UK shores last year, Art Garfunkel will return for six shows this September including Cardiff, Oxford, London, Gateshead, Edinburgh and Liverpool.

He kicks off at Liverpool Philharmonic on Wednesday 16th September.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 30th January priced £35 regionally and £55 / £48.50 / £42.50 / £38.50 / £35 / £30 (subject to per-ticket charge plus order processing fee) from www.livenation.co.uk
