Final Destination 5 breathes new life into the horror franchise and all credit goes to director Steven Quale, writers Eric Heisserer and Jeffery Reddick.
The writers have outdone themselves this time around devising new and stomach churning ways to kill off the survivors.
Not a lot has changed since the first film a decade ago. Apart from fans being treated to the film in glorious 3D where blood and guts literally fly at you.
The premise remains the same and The Grim Reaper calls for eight colleagues after Sam (rising star Nicholas D’Agosto) has a premonition of their ill fate.
Death’s design has been thwarted, but as we know he does not give up easily. Each lucky escapee is doomed to die in the order they survived.
The killings are clever and drenched in gore. They take the audience one way and then flip expectations about Death’s arrival all with great effect and some welcome comic relief.
