As part of Venue Expo at the city’s new Exhibition Centre, Liverpool Hoteliers Association (LHA) joined forces with Liverpool Chamber for a collaborative networking event.

More than 140 hoteliers, restaurateurs and businesspeople from across the city descended on the £66m innovative exhibition complex, in a bid to explore the venue and connect with one another.

The joint networking session looked at maintaining Liverpool’s reputation as a leading UK tourist destination by encouraging local businesses to form diverse affiliations, through collectively discussing methods and strategies to boost the ever-growing visitor economy.

Chairman of Liverpool Hoteliers Association and General Manager at Malmaison Liverpool James Rush said: “Not only was it great to join forces with Liverpool Chamber to offer a combined networking session, it was fantastic to be one of the first to experience the state-of-the-art facilities confined within the new Exhibition Centre.

“The session enabled local businesses to meet and liaise with one another while actively sharing ideas to help maximise what the city has to offer on a whole. In order for Liverpool to maintain its status as a leading tourist destination, it is important that we as a city unite to share our news, suggestions and development plans with one another.”

Ran by hoteliers for hoteliers, Liverpool Hoteliers Association is a non-profit organisation that offers membership to hotels, serviced apartments and guesthouses across the area with aims to champion the vibrant city of Liverpool.

Richard Daly, Commercial Manager at Liverpool Chamber added: “We were delighted with the success of event, it was great to see so many people from a wide range of sectors engaging with each other. I am sure that lots of positive relationships have been built and we will look to develop more joint initiatives with the Liverpool Hoteliers Association over the coming year.”

By offering a membership service to local businesses, Liverpool Chamber actively promotes and celebrates businesses by giving them access to contacts and customer bases. It also provides services and support while representing business interests to key stakeholders.
