While most people learn of wonderful historical places in Asia like the Great Wall of China or Angkor Wat in Cambodia, there are so many interesting family-friendly places to visit in Asia that you could take a holiday there year after year and never see them all in a lifetime. Some countries in Asia welcome Western visitors with open arms whilst others are a bit more reserved, making travel a bit more complicated.

Even so, if you are looking for the very best family-friendly travel destinations in Asia, you should begin planning your trip at least six months in advance. There is just so much to see and do that it might take that long just to decide which destinations you should visit this time around. Here are some suggestions.

A Shorter Wall to Explore in Xi’an China

Speaking of the Great Wall of China, one place that also has a barrier wall is the city of Xi’an. Children can bike or walk the wall that encircles the city and as for shopping and other ‘touristy’ delights, Xi’an has much to keep adults entertained as well. The wall surrounding Xi’an is approximately 14 kilometres in length and although fun for kids to run and ride on, gives a marvellous view of the city below. Experience China in a place where the past is treasured and much of history has been preserved.

Japan – Where East Meets West and Old Meets New

As a country steeped in history, much of what was lost in WWII still lies in ruins gone forever but there is still much to see and do if you are a history buff. Why not take the kids to some of the locations central to the last World War but also some of the modern wonders that has put Japan on the map as a technological centre to be admired. If you are looking for a hi-tech environment, Tokyo is definitely the place to visit with its many hi-tech landmarks and some of the world’s most amazing skyscrapers. On the other hand, for a glimpse of history beyond compare, take the family to Kyoto which is home to more than two thousand shrines and temples. In a land where religion is very much a part of everyday life and ancestors are venerated, get a first-hand look at history that has been preserved for countless generations.

Bask in the Near Perfect Year-Round Weather of Bali

The sad reality is that not all families get to go on holiday during warm summer months. When looking to visit Asia, have you considered Bali? Known for having absolutely perfect weather almost any time of the year and people who are amongst the friendliest in the world, why not book a trip to Bali with the family? Here it is said that the locals will even entertain your children whilst you sit and enjoy a lovely meal. You might want to consider taking them up with your offer to spend time with the kids while you enjoy a quiet romantic dinner for two before heading out with the family to walk the beaches under the stars. Bali, due to its abundant natural beauty and relaxed way of life is one family-friendly Asian destination that is a must see for every family at least once in a lifetime.

There is so much to see and do in Asia that it would take volumes and volumes to list everything of note, however, no matter where you go there will be family friendly destinations and those aimed at catering to adults. Check well in advance what there is to see and do before deciding on a holiday destination and you will have a simply fantastic trip – better than you ever dreamed possible.
