Bewdog is Scotland’s largest independent brewery. And for us, the two most important apects are “independent” and “brewery”.
It has brought its unique craft beer crusade to our merry Merseyside, opening its doors earlier this month.
Located at Manolis Yard, 8 Colquitt Street, Liverpool, L1 4DE, BrewDog Liverpool will, according to its idiosyncratic founders, ‘change the face of beer in the region’.
BrewDog Liverpool is number ten on the 2014 crusade to provide a totem to craft beer in every major city in the UK.
Brewdog co-founder James Watt said, “Liverpool has an awesome heritage of carving its own path, disregarding the homogeny of the mainstream, as well as an historic connection to beer.
“Some of the earliest IPAs bound for India departed British shores from the ports of Merseyside, so this new bar is something of a craft beer homecoming.”
He continued, “BrewDog Liverpool is a key bolt hole for the craft beer revolution.
“There is a craft beer enlightenment taking place across the UK, and far from simply selling beer to those looking for it, we see our bars as the frontline in making everyone as passionate about craft beer as we are.”
BrewDog Liverpool has capacity for 300 people and will feature 30 beers on tap from renowned breweries from all over the globe, including Mikkeller, Flying Dog, Evil Twin, Mad Hatter and Stone.
Like all BrewDog bars, Liverpool has a host of highly trained Cicerone Beer Servers qualified experts tending the bar.
There is also a ‘press for beer’ button at each booth to alert bar staff about service needs to ensure drinkers never go thirsty.
Regular ‘Meet the brewer’ events will provide customers with face time with some of the most creative brewers the world has to offer.
BrewDog staff will also provide brew sessions and beer schools for customers to learn more about craft beer and the brewing process.
The new Liverpool bar is BrewDog’s tenth bar launch in 2014, following openings in São Paulo, Tokyo, Sheffield, Gothenburg, Dundee, Florence, Cardiff, Ellon in Aberdeenshire and Clapham Junction, London.
There are now 24 BrewDog bars. 18 in the UK, and six international bars.
