The Full Monty will be flashing their talents at the Liverpool Empire Theatre until Saturday 12th November and it’s expected to pull in fantastic crowds. The Empire, if tonight is anything to judge by, will be filled to the brim with giddy theatre-goers eager to catch sight of Gary Lucy’s backside!

Gary feeds off the audience’s’ attention and has a great connection with both the crowd and the cast. Although, his accent is slightly off – he has adjusted very well to the stage.

Writer, Simon Beaufoy, remains faithful to the films original script with only slight tweaks making the play stage-suitable. Expect to see those well-loved scenes including the infamous “Hot Stuff” queue dance and the comically cute Dave wrapping himself in cling film while enjoying a Mars bar.

Chris Fountain (Guy) is a perfect casting – he is loveable and has a natural, Northern charm. His relationship with Anthony Lewis (Lomper) is heart-warming and memorable.

An explosive ending to The Full Monty with the whole cast creating a “working-women’s club” atmosphere. Anthony experiences a minor wardrobe malfunction in the grand finale – giving the audience a little more than what they paid for! However, this only adds to the fun and cheekiness of the play. Simon creates a fantastic build-up and bang which is well worth the wait!

Hats off to the entire cast of The Full Monty – this is one not to be missed. Expect sparkle, charm and humour, followed by one hell of a finale!
