Wildlife TV Presenter, adventurer, naturalist and children’s author, Steve Backshall, will be sharing his stories from his exciting expeditions at St Helens Theatre Royal on Friday, 28th October.
All round ‘dare-devil,’ Steve will be coming to St Helens as part of his nationwide Wild World tour which he is launching this autumn.
Following on from the huge success of his 2015 tour, The Wild World show will have something for everyone as Steve will give his audiences a glimpse behind the scenes to what he claims is “the best job in the world.”
Steve will take you on a tour of the real life expeditions that have inspired his books The Falcon Chronicles and his new novel in the series Shark Seas.
It’s a wild journey, illustrated with photos and films from the Arctic to the Antarctic, from the tundra to the top of the world’s highest peaks, and from the depths of the rainforest to the bottom of the ocean.
Tales from his nail-biting adventures to the world’s wildest places with the most bizarre and deadly beasts on earth will leave audiences of all ages on the edge of their seats.
Steve recently starred in the gripping BBC Two series Steve Backshall’s Extreme Mountain Adventure which saw him embark on one of his most dramatic and dangerous expeditions to date.
He explored Venezuela’s tepuis, the ancient, sheer-sided mountains of Canaima National Park, and attempted the first ascent of the tepui in search of wildlife on the summit.
Steve also had a thrilling new six-part TV series Fierce on ITV in the spring where he searched to find the world’s most fierce animals.
Wild World will accompany the release of Steve’s new novel Shark Seas – the fourth book in the Falcon Chronicles series of children’s novels. The novel is due to be released ahead of the tour and will be available to purchase at St Helens Theatre Royal.
This talk is suitable for wildlife enthusiasts of all ages from eight to eighty. There will be extended Q and As. (Parents are advised that the content might be challenging for very young children).
“We are very excited to welcome Steve Backshall to St Helens and can’t wait to hear his jaw-dropping tales of face-to-face wildlife encounters,”Chantelle Nolan, Theatre Royal Manager said. “From the depths of the rain forest to the bottom of the sea, there is very little Steve hasn’t seen which will keep our audiences’ eyes and ears glued from start to finish.”
