Ru Paul’s Drag Race Season Five winner, Jinkx Monsoon, is set to hit Unity Theatre Liverpool twice in one night at this year’s Homotopia Festival. Jinkx Monsoon has added an extra date to her hit show, The Vaudevillians, due to popular demand.
The season five Drag Race winner is set to bring back a popular 1920’s comedy show with Major Scales. Jinkx Monsoon has performed two sell-out runs at London’s Soho Theatre with The Vaudevillians with her co-star, Major Scales. She also returned at Christmas for a seasonal sell out event, Unwrapped, again with Major Scales. Major Scales is a composer, contributing some of his music to Drag Race season six contestant BenDeLeCreme’s Cosmos festival. He has performed in various cabaret shows around the theatres of Seattle, his hometown. Jinkx Monsoon and Major Scales have both performed The Vaudevillians in venues throughout America, and now the UK.
The Vaudevillians is a comedy-cabaret show, with the first date selling out in less than a week. The performance is 70 minutes long and will feature Jinkx Monsoon reviving the character of Kitty Witless, with Scales reviving Dr Dan Von Dandy.
The show’s venue has just undergone an £845,000 renovation, re-opening its doors to audience members in June 2017. Tickets are on sale now, adults (16+) at £16.50, and concessions for £14.50.
