World dance specialists Movema are bringing the incredible talent of Merlin Nyakam to Liverpool this month for a one-off masterclass, where you can learn the secrets and techniques which have made him one of the most celebrated African dancers.
Movema are hosting the Cameroon born artist, in his first ever appearance in the North West, to launch a series of dynamic dance masterclasses, open to both beginners and more advanced artists.
The African dance masterclasses take place on Wednesday September, 16th, at LIPA on Mount Street and will be accompanied by a live drummer from Senegal.
Merlin, who now lives in Paris and is famed for his electric live performances, has also appeared in movies and alongside Bobby McFerrin as a dancer.
Movema director Ithalia Forel said: “Merlin is a phenomenal talent and mesmerising to watch in action.
“We’re delighted to be able to bring him to Liverpool for his first ever appearance in the North West.
“And not only will you be able to watch him, you can learn some of his incredible secrets in our masterclasses.
“Merlin will be teaching an open class for all abilities and a more advanced class, for experienced dancers.”
