Half term can be a nightmare to keep the young’uns entertained, luckily, Pyramid & Parr Hall have just the answer.

3 shows over the week, Comedy Sportz, Alfie White and Card Ninja.

Comdey Sportz is now in its 15th year, it is an all-ages, all-improvised show where two teams battle it out for laughs which is sure to entertain the Warrington audience.

Players create quick-witted sketches, scenes and songs from whatever suggestions are thrown at them by the audience, creating a show that’s fast, feel good and always unpredictably funny.

There’s a referee on hand to steer the entertainment, call any fouls and help the audience decide the winner and, most importantly, it’s great entertainment for the whole family, including children aged eight and up.

Lancashire Evening Post described Comedy Sportz as “a non-stop stream of gags, sketches and general hilarity,“ Netmums said “kids enjoyed the interactive nature of the show and were in fits of giggles all the way through” and Yorkshire Times said the show was “quick, witty, sometimes ingenious, and more often than not, just down-right silly”.

Alfie White: Space Explorer, which comes to Pyramid on Monday 24 October, is a cosmic tale of adventure and discovery for everyone aged five and up.

It’s Tall Stories’ latest production and had a brilliant run at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe with great feedback from audiences and reviewers alike.

Broadway Baby described the show as “a thrilling everyday adventure that is engaging for all ages” while The Stage said it was “an accomplished piece of children’s storytelling theatre” which “holds the children in rapt and often amused attention”.

After a standing-room only season at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Javier Jarquin is bringing his award-winning show Card Ninja to Pyramid arts centre for a very special show.

The Card Ninja possesses extraordinary skills which are more than just sleight of hand; these ‘tricks’ are on another level and unlike anything the Warrington audience will have seen before.

Javier uses ordinary playing cards as weapons, with unfathomable precision, speed and power, in this unique, hilarious performance which will stick in the memory for months to come.

Following his journey from mild-mannered card player to “silent assassin”, Card Ninja is a one-man comedy show with upbeat humour, impressive stunts and smooth audience interaction for anyone who’s ever wanted to be a little bit Ninja.

This is family entertainment at its best and is suitable for anyone aged 8 and above.

Three Weeks, a guide to Edinburgh’s festivals, said they had “never seen a more engaged, reactive and eager audience” and The Stage said “Jarquin is seriously talented when it comes to working a crowd – the real aces up his sleeve, however, were his winning, charismatic stage personality and some genuinely punch comedy material”.
