Celebrating 10 years of creating imaginative and innovative theatre for and with young people 20 Stories High present their birthday show at the Liverpool Everyman. The Elasticated Sound System will use the company’s trademark blend of puppetry, poetry, live music and urban dance to tell the stories of 7 young people getting tangled up by life. Romance, race, sexuality, siblings and a meteor shower – urgent contemporary political stories are re-mixed with personal heart-felt tales.

Director and company co-founder Keith Saha explained: “Because it’s our 10th birthday we wanted to bring all the young people from our youth theatre together with the older Young Actors company and for it be a celebration of their talent and achievements. What is amazing is how the two groups create and work together on dance, music, poetry, lyrics. The collaborations and generosity is amazing and I think makes the company what it is. As always the inspiration for the stories and themes in the show come from the young people themselves. Elasticated Sound System will be a true reflection of the spirit of the company over the last ten years, bursting with energy, passion and authenticity with amazing live music and heartfelt and challenging stories – and as always things that will make you smile.”

Founded in 2006, 20 Stories High has established itself as one of the leading young people’s theatre companies nationally, and has won a series of prestigious awards and commissions.

Julia Samuels who co-founded the company in 2006 added: “We are incredibly proud of the young people we’ve worked with. A few of them have been with us from the beginning, some have gone on to have professional theatre careers and others have developed a self-assurance they lacked when joining. It’s been an incredible journey for us all so far and I just look forward to the next ten years!”

ELASTICATED SOUND SYSTEM will be at The Everyman Theatre, Liverpool on 21st-22nd July. For Tickets and further information: www.everymanplayhouse.com
