Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, the Sony exclusive narrative-driven exploration game, is now available to download. Set in Shropshire, during the apocalypse, the plot is based around six characters, each telling their own story, and each connected to landmarks in the world that evolve as the game progresses.
Some critics have noted the in-game movement is quite slow, prompting developer Dan Pinchbeck to explain that by holding down the R2 button players can build up speed before running.
“We probably should have announced the run button before launch, but we didn’t […] But the most important thing is that we get the word out to players […]sorry for those of you who already played and were frustrated by the speed. Hopefully it didn’t spoil the experience too much for you.”
Mark Noseworthy, executive producer, has clarified Bungie’s decision to replace Peter Dinklage with Nolan North was based on availability rather than fan criticism toward Dinklage. Noseworthy assured the Game of Thrones actors was:
“awesome to work with but we needed to work with someone who is more available. Nolan is a pro, this is his thing […] You can just call him up and say ‘hey, next week we’re doing this internal play test and it would be great to get some Ghost dialogue in there’. And he’s available.”

Telltale has announced Tales from the Borderlands: Episode 4, Escape Plan Bravo, is due for download 18th August for PC, Mac, PS4/3. Xbox versions are available the following the day with iOS and Android ports released 20th August.
Following years of fan demand Capcom has confirmed an official HD remake of Resident Evil 2 will be produced. The project was announced via a Youtube video wherein Yoshiaki Hirabyashi, Capcom producer, wore a t shirt (with the phrase “We do it!”) and stood next to a TV displaying a crude Resident Evil 2 Remake logo. Undoubtedly this stems from the fan opinion survey based on Resident Evil 2 Reborn, the unofficial fan remake.

Bethesda’s mobile game Fallout Shelter is now available on Android devices. As with iPhone and iPad versions the game is free to download but does contain in-app purchases. According to their official blog all versions will shortly undergo an update which will include a servant bot Mr. Handy as a premium reward. Mr Handy will, “collect resources inside your Vault, send him into the wasteland to collect loot, and defend your Vault from creatures and disasters, including all new Deathclaw invasions and Molerat infestations.”
EA has detailed Star Wars: Battlefront’s Supremacy mode. Though similar to Conquest Mode the developer state:
“When you spawn into Supremacy, you don’t have to move far to see a lot of friends – and enemies […] your screen is filled with adversaries: infantry, Heroes, Walkers, and starfighters. You can prepare for very heavy and focused Star Wars action.”
The objective of the new mode is to gain control of five areas scattered across a large map. Each team will begin with two points in their territory and battle for the remaining point. Once a team has captured the point, a specific order must be adhered to when claiming the control points.

Despite previously insinuating he would like to continue in a project with Hideo Kojima, following the cancellation of Silent Hills, Film director Guillermo del Toro has announced he will no longer be involved with video games. In a comment, in which he jokingly referred to himself as an albatross, he said:
“I joined THQ, and THQ goes broke. I join Kojima, and Kojima leaves Konami. I have decided, in order not to destroy anyone else’s life, I will never again get involved in video games. Otherwise, I’ll join someone and his house will explode, or something.”
