Top six Christmas movies to get you in the festive mood this holiday season

Who doesn’t love watching a wholesome Christmas movie, by the fire with some hot chocolate? It’s the perfect way to spend a cold winter evening on the lead up to Christmas. Being able to sit down and put the stress of planning for the festive season on the back burner for a couple of hours.

We’ve created a list of the top six Christmas movies to watch this holiday season.

Nativity

Who doesn’t love a nativity? This movie is a Christmas classic, where a teacher and his crazy classroom assistant take the audience on a wild ride as they put a new twist on the classic nativity.

This movie is currently streaming on Netflix and is a perfect one for the kids to have a fun sing along.

ELF

This one had to make the list, who hasn’t seen elf? If not it’s a must see this holiday season. The film follows Buddy the elf as he leaves the North Pole to go on a search to find his dad. This is a feel-good movie and great for all ages this festive season.

Home Alone

Another well-known movie that is known for being a Christmas classic of the middle-child Kevin get left home alone at Christmas and causes lots of mischief.

This one can be found on Disney+ alongside Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, and 3. If you and the family want to have a Home Alone marathon.

The Grinch

Now this one is a bit controversial. People either love the grinch or hate it. But it has been added to this line-up anyways. Whether you like the movie or not, everyone will get a good laugh out of this movie this festive season, just give the Grinch a chance. He didn’t always hate Christmas, or did he?

LOVE ACTUALLY

Who doesn’t want a bit of love this holiday season? Well, we have your fix right here. The movie follows multiple people navigating different types of love around the festive season.

This one is more for older audience, so not the kiddos but still is a good watch and is streaming on Now TV.

DECK THE HALLS

If you want a good laugh this Christmas season, this final movie is the one for you. Deck the Halls follows two dads who are battling it out to see whose house shines the brightest and they won’t stop till one of them wins.

It’s a great watch for this festive season with the family and is streaming on Disney+.
