Shopping sustainably can be hard in a world of fast fashion; however, Liverpool has some amazing places to get your fix of sustainable fashion.
Bold Street is a hotspot for all the fashion lovers and there is something for everyone.
The infamous COW store is located on bold street and has a wide range of vintage and sustainable pieces that will last through any decade.
The store sells women’s and men’s vintage clothes, and upcycled, reworked clothes from vintage materials.
They have an amazing selection of faux fur coats that will keep you warm during the winter months.
The store also sells brands like Carhartt, Dickies and Levi’s mix with their own reworked line and crafted garments.
If the clothes aren’t for you, then you can find an amazing selection of second-hand jewellery, homeware and accessories. There really is something for everyone in the store.
Charity shops
Liverpool is full of charity shops, where you can find so many hidden gems.
Some of my personal favourites are OXFAM and the BHF on bold street, Claire’s house Allerton Road and St Joseph’s Hospice Shop on Aigburth road.
British heart foundation has partnered up with fast fashion brands such as Pretty Little Thing, Zara, Boohoo and Bershka where they donate all their unsold items there, giving a new life to trending clothing items, which would just be sent to a landfill.
These items range from denim skirts to beautiful floral dresses with tags still on, so the items haven’t even been worn before.
You can find all sorts of brands in all charity shops, for example I found a Ralph Lauren jumper in an OXFAM for £12 and a UNIQLO black shoulder bag for £2 in Claire’s House.
Some days charity shops can be very bare, however some days you can go and find the most amazing pieces and give them a second life.
Redbrick market
Redbrick market is in the Baltic market and is an indoor market which has a wide range of unique items.
Independent Liverpool called it the “North West’s answer to London’s infamous Camden market.”
The market is full of independent businesses, local artists, traders and startup businesses.
The market is full of amazing stores ranging from a vintage sports jersey, crystal stores, amazing local artwork, vinyl store.
You could roam around the market all day getting lost in all the amazing things the local people have to offer.
