American band Manchester Orchestra are hitting the UK with a bang this week with the release of the single ‘I’ve Got Friends’ and slots at Reading and Leeds festivals this Bank Holiday weekend.
The Atlanta based band will also release their second full album ‘Mean Everything To Nothing’ in the UK in September as well as playing support to Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro in October and November.
Their latest album has picked up massive support on US rock radio with frontman Andy Hull in no doubt about the quality of the record: “There is nothing fake about this record,” he says.
“There’s not one fake sound on it. We recorded it live because we wanted it to sound live and loud!”
‘Mean Everything To Nothing’ follows Manchester Orchestra’s epic 300 days on the road in support of their debut album, ‘I’m Like A Virgin Losing A Child’ which was released in 2007.
The band spent more than a year touring with the Kings of Leon, Brand New, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Say Anything, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and have begun to headline their own shows.
Manchester Orchestra play Reading Festival on August 28th and Leeds Festival on August 30th
The single ‘I’ve Got Friends’ will be released as a special limited edition on 500 collectors’ 7” singles on August 31st.
Mean Everything To Nothing is released on Columbia Records on September 7th.
