US rapcore heroes Hollywood Undead are enjoying major airplay on Radio One, but they exclusively told us about their upcoming plans for a monster British invasion.

Bursting on to the scene with album Swan Songs in May they asked fans to customise their own Undead masks for the video to single Young which appears in video game Rock Band 2.

Speaking to Purple Revolver from their Hollywood rehearsal studio they gave us the lowdown on why they wear horror masks and how the wildest crowds are North of the border.

They also described the worst part of being on the road in the UK is having to go to Kebab shops or KFC.

J-Dog said: “We love playing in Glasgow and can’t wait to come back at the end of summer.

“The Scottish crowds are crazy – the further North you get from London the louder and more in to the vibe they get.

“We’re planning our own UK invasion and will definitely kick things off in Scotland.

“But the food really sucks in the UK or at least the food we have access to after finishing a show does.”

Funnyman added: “It’s usually either a limp KFC or one of those horrible Kebab shops.

“What’s the deal with everything closing so early over here?”

Revealing the story behind their masks, they said it was just a running joke within the band to see who could find the best one but they also enjoy not being recognised.

Funnyman said: “We’ve been wearing the masks from the beginning – somebody just came up with the idea one day.”

J-Dog said: “Yeah one of the guys pulled a Halloween mask from a Del Taco bag and it just snowballed from there.

“We just didn’t want to show our faces, so we can talk shit about peeps and they don’t know who we are.

“We were aware that we’d get some Wu-Tang, Ghostface Killah and Slipknot comparisons. They’re cool and they are influences.”

“But really we get the best of both world’s from being famous, still most people won’t recognise who we are on the street.

“It was crazy when we first came out… there were literally 1000s of posters of us all over LA – but nobody knew who we were.

“I could just stand under it mean mugging under one of them and nobody had a clue what was going on.”

Funnyman added: “Our friends know of course and a few other people around Hollywood.

“Plus you can come to the show and we take our masks off after a few songs. So if you want to see what we look like come see us play.”
