The city’s iconic Jacaranda club, home to some of the very first live performances by the Beatles, is set to open a new 400 capacity venue in the Baltic Triangle.

The new site based in Cains Brewery Village on Stanhope Street will feature a brand-new record store in addition to the larger venue space and everyone who snags a ticket to the free launch party will get a special present.

To celebrate the launch of this new venture there will be an opening night party on 20th of January which is free entry and features a headline performance by Liverpool singer songwriter ZuZu.

Other acts on the bill include Rock And Roll Circus, a cover band playing many classic rock staples, Indie band Sterling Press and the openers will be new boys Drivers Club who will have their first ever live performance at the event.

To mark the special occasion, attendees of the event will receive a new unique one-of-a-kind gift. Guests will receive a code from the Jacaranda records team that will allow them to download an E.P featuring Voice O Graph recordings of all the artists on the events bill. This E.P has been recorded on the clubs “1958” straight to vinyl Voice O Graph machine.

The original Jacaranda club will celebrate its 65th birthday this year, it was first opened in 1958 by the Beatles’ first manager Alan Williams. It played a key role in launching the careers of the fab four and also helped other iconic Merseybeat bands such as Gerry and the Pacemakers and Rory Storm and the Hurricanes take off.

The new record store will stock a mix of local and international releases alongside classic albums and a few hidden gems. January already has sold out shows from Shed Seven on the 12th and Tom Odell on the 23rd.

Rapper Dizzee Rascal will also perform a sold-out show on the 10th of February to celebrate the launch of his new album Don’t Take It Personal, which will include a signing and meet and greet with the rapper.

Graham Stanley, Managing Director said: “The Jacaranda Baltic project is definitely the most ambitious thing we’ve done as a business! We’ve tried to put Jacaranda DNA in every fixture, corner, and brick of the new premises.”

Veselin Mihaylov, Head of Bookings said: “We’re excited to bring some of the world’s biggest acts to Liverpool and the Baltic Triangle. The performance space and stage has been purpose built with intimate shows from large acts in mind. So, watch this space and trust me when I say we have big things to announce very soon.”
