Liverpool’s cult cinema hub VideOdyssey is making a big splash this November with a special JAWS 50th Anniversary Celebration which promises to be an immersive experience honouring the movie that forever changed blockbuster filmmaking.

The event takes place on Saturday 22 November at VideOdyssey, inside Toxteth TV, famous for being home to the ‘UK’s last video shop’ – and will be a treat for fans – an evening overflowing with creativity, community spirit, and shark-infested fun.

Teaming up with Liverpool Noise and Purple Revolver, VideOdyssey invites film lovers to plunge into Spielberg’s 1975 masterpiece through an exciting mix of live performance art, interactive quizzes, rare memorabilia, and even an eye-catching LEGO recreation of JAWS.

From 6:30pm, guests can explore a treasure trove of collectibles and themed artwork before the main screening begins. Expect a live art showcase inspired by the film’s iconic imagery, a fan quiz to test your JAWS trivia, and a special viewing of the movie that gave birth to the modern summer blockbuster.

Tickets are just £8, or £6 for local L8 residents, students, and those currently unwaged – keeping the night accessible and community-focused while celebrating one of cinema’s most enduring classics.

Housed within Toxteth TV Studios, VideOdyssey has built a reputation as one of Liverpool’s most distinctive creative spaces – a nostalgic paradise featuring retro arcade games, vintage video rentals, and a genuine passion for film culture.

This JAWS tribute event continues that mission, bringing together fans, artists, and cinephiles in one unforgettable evening.

So grab your fins, call your movie mates, and get ready to relive the bite that shook Hollywood.
