Packing tips for stylish and stress- free holidays

A suitcase is a curious thing. It’s both the promise of freedom and the battleground for the essentials you’re supposed to live without for the next week or two.

But fear not, packing doesn’t need to be the stress-inducing, wardrobe-ruining nightmare it’s often made out to be. With a little planning, the process can be slick,
stylish, and – dare we say it – even efficient. Let’s break it down.

Choose your wardrobe like a minimalist artist

Packing shouldn’t be about cramming your wardrobe into a carry-on (despite how thrilling the challenge sounds). Instead, focus on a capsule wardrobe that reflects
your destination’s vibe.

If you’re jetting off on a Greece holiday, for example, picture yourself lounging on a sun-drenched terrace with a gentle breeze – what do you want to wear? Think
breathable fabrics and versatile pieces that can mix and match easily.

A good rule of thumb is to select a neutral colour palette that goes with everything. Add a few statement accessories so you still feel chic without overloading your
luggage.

And, while we’re talking about style, don’t forget about comfort. No one’s impressed by your new “statement shoes” when you can’t walk a mile in them. Choose a pair
that’s both stylish and practical for those long sightseeing strolls or ambles to the local café.

Roll, don’t fold

Forget about folding your clothes like you’re packing for a military operation. Rolling your garments is the packing hack you never knew you needed.

T-shirts, dresses, trousers – roll them all. It saves space, reduces creases and helps you find things faster when you’re rifling through your bag in a tired travel haze. A
few packing cubes might be a worthwhile investment, too.

Streamline your toiletries

The toiletries section of your packing list can spiral into madness if you let it. We’ve all been there: trying to squeeze full-sized shampoo bottles and half-forgotten
moisturisers into every corner of your bag.

Solution? Stick to travel-sized versions or decant your favourites into small bottles. Make sure you’re using reusable containers, as they’re eco-friendly and cut down on
waste.

A small multi-purpose moisturiser that can double as sunscreen is a genius way to streamline your collection. Bonus points if it fits in the palm of your hand and doesn’t
weigh down your bag.

Organise your accessories for easy access

Finding your sunglasses buried beneath a pile of beach towels is a tragedy you can avoid with a bit of planning.

Keep all your small accessories – sunglasses, chargers, etc. – in separate pouches or zip-lock bags. Not only does this prevent them from getting scratched or tangled,
but it also makes it much easier to grab what you need without turning your luggage into a disaster zone.

Invest in a sturdy, see-through bag for your electronics so you can spot that elusive charger in seconds.

Leave room for local finds

No one can resist a good souvenir. And while you can’t predict exactly what treasures you’ll find abroad, you can plan to leave a little extra space for them.
If you’re heading to a place where artisan jewellery or handwoven textiles might tempt you at every turn, make sure you’ve packed with flexibility in mind. A foldable
tote bag can save the day when you need to stuff that perfect pair of sandals into your already packed suitcase.

In the end, packing is about fitting the right things in, not everything. With a bit of thought and clever organisation, you can have a stress-free journey, packed with
style and ease. Happy travels.
