Taylor Swift has made her much anticipated debut for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.

For an audience of 300-plus NPR employees and guests, Taylor settled down for a set of stripped down performances, consiting of selected songs from her latest album titled Lover, and a bonus, much loved track All Too Well, taken from her 2012 album, Red.

Prior to her first performance, she introduced herself, and stated: “I just decided to take this as an opportunity to show you guys how the songs sounded when I first wrote them.”

Swift, opened her set with an acoustic rendition of The Man, expertly strumming along on the guitar, the audience cheered.

After performing The Man, Taylor switched over to the piano for a rendition of the title track, Lover, commenting on the bridge of the song, including her favourite line: “With every guitar string scar on my hand, I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover” – and it’s meaning, that whoever ends up with her, has to take the guitar-related scars on her hand.

Shw took off her blazer at one point, jokingly asking “You guys ever have costume changes at Tiny Desk?”

Taylor continued her set, Prior to singing her final song of the performance, she said:

“There’s one song that I’m particularly proud of because when the ‘Red’ album came out there was this one song on the album and I’m like, ‘I’m the only one who likes this song this much,’ but it’s only because it happened to me and it’s personal. No one is going to like ‘All Too Well’ as much,'” she said, adding that now,the song usually makes No. 1 on any Taylor Swift song ranking.
