Glaswegian rockers The Fratellis have just released their third album We Need Medicine. The album is doing well, but lead singer Jon says the best is yet to come.

In a recent interview following the band’s summer tour the singer talks about his side project Codeine Velvet Club and the reformation of his band following their sudden hiatus in 2009.

Jon said, “I just got on with making music. I released two records with other side projects but i actually made three.”

During the bands three year hiatus the Scottish rocker worked with burlesque performer Lou Hickey, also known as Chelsea Dagger.

The Henrietta singer admits he takes perverse pleasure in keeping the unheard material for himself.

“It took ages to make and it’s quite possibly my favourite record.” adding “I pull it out every now and then and have a listen.”

We will have to take his word for it though as he has said the tacks will remain in his top draw for the time being.

“For the foreseeable future, probably for a long time, it’ll just be for me.”
