Described as an artist that has something unique to bring to the UK music scene 21 year old Tamara Buckley aka Tammy releases her new single No Good 4 Me, a whisper of a track that touches on narcissistic relationships.
Vocally it comes out like a sigh yet hiding a silent scream that just below the surface. The accompanying video plays out the public isolation and invisibility of being in a toxic relationship and the realisation of how those relationships are hard to leave no matter how bad they are.
Electronically it’s rather dark but there’s also something soothing about that throb that leads you through the track, it’s captivating and unusual. It’s a painfully beautiful song, love is beautiful but sometimes painful too. Whether in the club or perfect for a chill this will fit in any playlist.
London based Tammy was born and raised in Sussex in an evangelical family which has become her drive to rebel against. Perfecting her singing craft by singing in the choir and trying to emulate Britney Spears to Jeff Buckley in her bedroom by night. Listening to her voice there is that essence of both on the track.
Not one to shy away from a challenge and able to experiment freely there is spirit and individuality just oozing through this. It’s sensual and enigmatic and most definitely a brave new beginning of sound.
There’s no word as yet of further releases or live shows but for now we can enjoy what is a bold and beautiful start.
